La Porte, TX Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Incident command Outdoor work experience Basic math Word embeddings Productivity software Full Job Description Shipping Operator This position is responsible for all Customer Service day to day activities / functions at the La Porte Complex.
Load / Unload
, tankers, railcars and drums.
Receive / Ship
all export and domestic shipments. Placard trucks going out to customers, along with bill of lading paperwork. Demonstrate, understand and adhere to La Porte's PSM, HS&S, and Quality Systems. Required to achieve and maintain qualification as an E-Squad member.
This includes:
Industrial Fire Brigade, HAZMAT response, CPR, First Aid, and incident Command. Maintain good housekeeping throughout the Customer Service area. Handling hazardous material while complying with regulatory requirements for DOT. Train on department procedures and learn about the process. Operate forklift, fifth wheel, and other various equipment. Requires shift work. Will require some overtime, call-outs, vacation coverage, and work hours may be assigned by supervisors as needed. Requirements Minimum 2 years chemical plant experience (preferred but not required). Process Technology Degree (preferred but not required). Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point and other Office Suite applications. Chempax ERP (preferred but not required). Good organizational skills, and communication skills. Basic math skills are required. Must be able to work with a team, take directions from supervisors, prioritize work schedules, focus attention to details, able to multitask, and follow all work rules. In order to perform the essential duties, regular work attendance is required. Must be willing to work in outdoor environments.
