Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic around construction sites and other work zones. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. The Traffic Controller will be responsible for coordinating the flow of vehicles and pedestrians while maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities Direct traffic flow in and around construction sites, ensuring safety for both workers and the public. Monitor site conditions and communicate any hazards or issues to the construction team. Collaborate with heavy equipment operators, including those operating dump trucks, graders, loaders, and backhoes. Maintain clear communication with team members regarding site operations and traffic conditions. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols on the job site. Requirements Experience in heavy equipment operation is preferred, including familiarity with dump trucks, graders, loaders, front loader trucks, and backhoes. Knowledge of construction site protocols and safety measures. Ability to perform utility locating tasks effectively. Strong communication skills to relay information clearly to both workers and the public. Attention to detail in monitoring traffic patterns and site conditions. A valid driver's license may be required depending on job duties. Previous experience as a Traffic Controller or in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
