July 2026 SummaryThe Golf Clubhouse Personnel, under the direction of the Golf Course Manager, is primarily responsible for various aspects of the day to day operations of the course. Clubhouse Personnel may be trained and/or assigned to multiple areas of responsibility: Pro Shop, Starter, Cart Attendant, Player Assistant, and Driving Range.

Keep carts clean from debris at all timesMake sure fluid levels are kept upMake sure appropriate number of carts are staged for playChecking carts for safe operationKeep carts cleaned and in proper rotation to and from cart storage area Keep cart staging area orderly in regards to proper parking of carts Responsible to document when carts need maintenanceAssist the Golf Course Pro Shop staff as needed Relate to the public in a polite and professional manner at all timesProvide excellent customer servicePerform other job-related duties as assignedPick up and return baskets to Ball DispenserClean and pick up all balls on driving range, 1st fairway & 2nd fairwayProvide excellent customer serviceMaintain established starting time intervals in coordination with the golf shop staff to ensure pace of play Inform and educate golfing customers about pace of play and golf etiquette Enforce and implement the policies and procedures set forth by the Joliet Park District Combine individuals into groups as neededMaintain contact between the Starter, Player Assistant and the Pro Shop ClerkMaintain daily records and prepare reports to supervisor all incidents, accidents and customer concernsPerform light golf maintenance duties, such as filling divots, repairing ball marks and trash removal Assist with tournaments and special events as neededService the Pro Shop and assist all patrons with their golf related needsResponsible for operating a cash register and credit card machine to receive money for fees and merchandiseAnswer phones and transfer calls as necessaryBook tee time reservations and check-in golfers as they arriveAnswer questions regarding all facets of golf operationsMaintain a clean, safe and organized work environmentMaintaining the pro shop appearance by straightening, organizing, and stocking merchandising displaysCheck in golfersCheck all receipts to ensure payment before play beginsPair up singles and twosomes as necessaryFill out starter sheetExplain rules for the dayHave ability to positively handle customer interactions regarding pace of play and anything else that may arise on the courseHoursPart Time, Seasonal position. May require days, evenings, weekends, and holidaysSupervisory responsibilitiesNoneWork environmentWhile performing the duties of the job, employees will work in an outdoor setting. Employees will occasionally be asked to work inside to perform various tasks. A professional and courteous work environment must be maintained at all times.

While performing the duties of the job an employee must possess the ability to drive a gas and/or battery-operated golf cart, following safety guidelines. The employee is regularly required to: talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to touch, handle, grasp, push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
