IU Event Services events are aligned with the vision and goals of Indiana University, bringing with us the philosophy that every event must be created with our guests in mind. Job Summary Provides exceptional customer service to every guest they encounter to ensure a positive and welcoming experience. Takes on any position including (but not limited to); scanning tickets, guest seating, and assisting in VIP hospitality areas. Assists patrons with accessibility needs. Oversees crowd management to ensure a safe experience for all guests. Understands venue layouts and provides directional assistance to guests. Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required Sales or customer service experience SKILLS Required Outstanding customer service and communication skills Willingness to learn new skills and get feedback Eagerness to support and cheer on coworkers in a team environment Ability to adjust to ever-changing event demands Working Conditions / Demands This role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. This role frequently requires the ability to handle equipment. This role frequently requires the ability to remain stationary and ascend/descend ladders/stairs. This role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The role requires the ability to detect items in proximity as well as far away; discern between colors; detect objects in peripheral space of self; discern items in detail; and to have good depth perception. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation. Additional Information Additional supervisor and manager positions available after experience. Work Location Bloomington, Indiana Advertised Salary $13.00 - $13.25 per hour, based on event type. Paid incentives offered throughout the calendar year to incentivize attendance at various major events.
