Job Description

Be You. Duke University is seeking a Parking Garage Attendant to support daily parking operations across campus and health system locations. In this role, you'll help ensure a smooth, safe, and efficient parking experience by assisting parkers with payments, gate issues, directions, and general inquiries. You'll serve as a key point of contact for the Duke community—providing excellent customer service while helping maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of parking facilities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, multitasking, and working independently in an active environment. Minimum Requirements High school education or equivalent with strong communication and organizational skills At least 1 year of experience in customer service or a parking environment Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to multitask Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a high‑volume customer service or operational setting Familiarity with parking systems, ticketing, or payment platforms Other Requirements Ability to work independently and manage multiple requests throughout the day Ability to follow procedures and provide consistent, high‑quality customer service Be Bold. Position Description (Essential Duties) Assist parkers with ticketing, payments, gate issues, and general inquiries Conduct routine walk‑throughs to monitor cleanliness, safety, and facility conditions Provide directions and support to first‑time parkers and visitors Identify and report parking issues or operational concerns to leadership Collaborate with maintenance, enforcement, and customer service teams to resolve issues Choose Duke. Anticipated Pay Range:
Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $18.00 to USD $22.87. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. Your total compensation goes beyond the dollars on your paycheck.
