Autonomous Shuttle Safety Operator Part Time

Be Part of Boca Raton's Autonomous Mobility Program Guident is building a candidate pipeline for Safety Operators to support MiCa, an autonomous shuttle operating in Mizner Park as part of the City of Boca Raton's downtown mobility program. This is a live public transportation service — not a pilot — operating in one of Boca Raton's most visible public spaces. Qualified candidates will be referred to our operating partner, Circuit, for hiring, onboarding, and scheduling. As a Safety Operator, you are the human presence onboard. You keep passengers safe, represent the program professionally, and make sure operations run cleanly from start to finish. This role is equal parts safety monitoring, customer service, and operational execution. What You'll Do Passenger Experience Greet riders and create a welcoming, professional environment Explain the autonomous shuttle experience in simple, approachable terms Assist with safe boarding and exiting Represent MiCa and the City of Boca Raton professionally at all times Safety & Vehicle Monitoring Maintain situational awareness during operation — traffic, pedestrians, cyclists, road conditions, and passenger behavior Follow established procedures for unusual vehicle behavior, obstacles, hard stops, or incidents Report vehicle status, concerns, and incidents through proper channels Operational Support Conduct pre- and post-operation vehicle checks Record accurate passenger counts and operational data Support charging, shutdown, and end-of-shift procedures Keep the vehicle clean and passenger-ready Provide operational feedback to help improve service quality Requirements Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record High school diploma or GED Must pass a background check and motor vehicle record check Strong customer service and communication skills Calm, alert, and professional in a public-facing environment Comfortable with technology — tablets, vehicle interfaces, radios, or mobile apps Dependable, punctual, and safety-focused Preferred Experience in transportation, hospitality, security, public service, or related fields Interest in autonomous vehicles or emerging transportation technology Prior experience in a public-facing professional role Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather Ability to repeatedly enter and exit the vehicle during a shift Ability to lift up to 20 pounds About the Program MiCa is part of Boca Raton's downtown transportation infrastructure. Guident provides the technology and operations management. Circuit provides and manages the Safety Operator team. Qualified candidates will be referred to Circuit for final hiring consideration, onboarding, and scheduling.

Pay:

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
