Full-Time | On-Site TWIC Badge Required Start a Career in Automotive Logistics Road & Rail Services is hiring reliable Vehicle Shuttle Drivers to support automotive operations at our Blount Island location in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a hands-on driving position located inside an active port facility. Vehicle Shuttle Drivers are responsible for moving newly manufactured vehicles between designated staging and parking areas while following strict safety, traffic, and customer procedures. If you enjoy being active, working outdoors, and being part of a team that keeps a large operation moving, this may be a strong fit. This position can also provide opportunities for overtime based on customer volume and production needs . What You'll Be Doing Throughout your shift, you will drive and relocate vehicles throughout the terminal while helping maintain an organized and accurate vehicle inventory.
Responsibilities include:
Driving vehicles safely between assigned locations within the port facility. Parking vehicles according to customer and operational requirements. Following designated traffic routes, speed limits, and safety procedures. Helping ensure vehicles are placed in the correct inventory locations. Reporting unsafe conditions, vehicle concerns, or operational issues to supervision. Working closely with other drivers and team members to complete daily production requirements. Following all company, customer, port, and regulatory safety expectations. Maintaining consistent productivity while protecting customer vehicles from damage. Outdoor Work Environment This is not a primarily indoor driving position . Employees work outdoors throughout the shift and should be prepared for changing weather conditions, including Florida heat, humidity, rain, and other seasonal conditions. The job requires regular walking, getting in and out of vehicles, and remaining active throughout the workday. Schedules and hours are determined by customer production needs. Work hours may increase or change depending on vehicle volume, and overtime may be available during busier periods. Reliable attendance and schedule flexibility are important. TWIC Badge Requirement A valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) is required for this position. Employees are required to wear composite or steel-toe shoes while working. Boots are not permitted for drivers. Road & Rail Services reimburses up to $75 for the purchase of approved safety shoes. To begin the TWIC application process, visit www.tsa.gov/twic . What We're Looking For Qualified candidates should have: A valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record. A strong commitment to safe driving and workplace safety. The ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to work. The ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures. Strong attention to vehicle location and inventory accuracy. The ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced team.
