Job Description

Via Transportation seeks reliable, customer-focused Drivers to operate our tech-enabled shuttles and microtransit vehicles. You'll provide safe, timely rides using Via's driver app, following dynamic routes and schedules. In this mission-driven role, you'll assist passengers with boarding, maintain vehicle cleanliness, complete basic inspections, and report issues through our digital tools. Partner with operations teams to improve service quality, share on-the-road feedback, and support data-driven decisions that help cities deliver better, more efficient public transit. Responsibilities Operate Via shuttles and vehicles safely and courteously in urban and suburban environments Use Via's driver app to follow dynamic routes, pick-up/drop-off instructions, and schedules Provide friendly, professional customer service to all riders, including assistance with boarding and seating Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issues promptly Maintain vehicle cleanliness and present a professional appearance at all times Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies Communicate with dispatch and operations staff using in-app tools and radios as needed Accurately log trips, incidents, and delays using Via's digital systems Support riders with accessibility needs, including securement of mobility devices when required Share on-the-road feedback to help improve routing, safety, and overall service quality Required Skills Safe vehicle operation Navigation and route optimization using mobile apps Defensive driving Customer service Basic vehicle inspection and safety checks Use of smartphones and driver apps Knowledge of local traffic laws and geography Incident and trip reporting in digital systems Time management and punctuality Handling cashless and app-based trip workflows
