Open Until Filled The City of Algona, Iowa (Pop. 5,487) is seeking an outgoing, patient and friendly individual to serve as a Taxi Bus Driver for the Algona Taxi Service. This part-time position will provide transportation to the citizens of Algona, focusing on getting persons with disabilities and elderly citizens to their destinations safely. This part-time position will consist of two or three 8-hour days per week (average of 40 hours for 2 weeks) with the potential of more hours when covering shifts for other drivers. General Duties The Taxi Bus Driver is responsible for performing a wide range of duties besides driving the taxi including greeting riders, assisting riders onto the taxi when needed, collecting the taxi fare, answering dispatch calls, and keeping the taxi safe and clean for all patrons. The Taxi Driver will also perform daily inspections of the taxi and contact the necessary people to schedule maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the city's streets, as well as locations of a variety of destinations. Qualifications Successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, excellent driving record and must possess and maintain a valid Class D Iowa chauffeur's license. Pay will be commensurate with qualifications. This position is subject to Iowa DOT drug testing requirements.
