We are looking for applicants in the Iowa City area. This position will be a wheelchair van. CareLink Transportation is a Non-Emergency Transportation (NEMT) company. Our goal is to Provide Safe, Reliable Non-Emergency Medical Transportation for individuals who require special transport assistance. As a non-emergency transport driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting clients to and from medical appointments, personal errands, and other destinations. You will ensure that clients are comfortable and arrive at their destination on time. You will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-employment Drug Screen required. Safely operate a non-emergency transport vehicle, including wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and ensure that clients arrive at their destination on time. Provide exceptional customer service to clients, including assisting with entering and exiting the vehicle, securing seatbelts, and handling mobility equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers. Maintain accurate records of trip details, including mileage, pick-up and drop-off times, and any special requests made by the client or dispatcher. Follow all traffic laws and company policies and procedures, including maintaining a clean and safe driving record. Perform regular maintenance checks on the vehicle to ensure that it is in safe and working condition, report any issues to the supervisor, and follow up on repairs as needed. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to ensure that trips are scheduled and executed efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Muscatine Resident preferable. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to operate a non-emergency transport vehicle safely and effectively, including wheelchair-accessible vehicles Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills Ability to lift and move mobility equipment, such as wheelchairs and walkers, as needed Prior experience in transportation or customer service preferred If you meet these qualifications and are interested in becoming a non-emergency transport driver, please apply today.
