Wheelchair Van Driver Newburgh, IN About LYNX Lynx EMS provides private ambulance services for smooth, dependable patient transport to local area hospitals from various locations, including homes, emergency rooms, long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living facilities, psychiatric hospitals, and hospice care. We're here to ensure safe, timely transport, including discharge services from any medical facility Position Overview - Day Shift We are seeking dependable, service-oriented professionals to join our team as Day Shift Wheelchair Van Drivers. Daytime operations represent one of our highest-demand service periods, supporting scheduled medical appointments, dialysis transports, hospital discharges, rehabilitation visits, and interfacility transfers. As a Day Shift Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring patients arrive safely, on time, and with dignity. This position requires strong time management, attention to safety, and a compassionate, patient-first mindset. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for patients, families, healthcare staff, and dispatch throughout the day. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in structured daytime schedules and want to make a meaningful impact in their community. Key Responsibilities Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible van during scheduled daytime routes Transport patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, dialysis centers, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare locations Assist patients in and out of the vehicle using proper lifting, securement, and safety procedures Ensure all wheelchairs and mobility devices are properly secured before transport Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to patients and families Maintain punctuality and efficient time management throughout assigned routes Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety and operational readiness Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized vehicle interior Communicate effectively with dispatch and healthcare providers regarding arrival times, delays, or special transport needs Adhere strictly to safety protocols, HIPAA guidelines, company policies, and traffic laws What We're Looking For Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to safely assist patients in and out of the vehicle using proper body mechanics Strong communication and customer service skills Compassionate, patient, and dependable attitude Professional appearance and conduct Ability to manage a structured daytime schedule with reliability and punctuality Previous experience in medical transportation or healthcare is a plus, but not required This role is well-suited for individuals who enjoy working independently while being part of a supportive team environment.
