Duties Safely operate a passenger van and adhering strictly to traffic laws and vehicle codes. Transport children to and from the childcare center, ensuring timely arrivals and departures while following all transportation safety regulations. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including emergency stop procedures and quick response to traffic changes. Go into classrooms to give teachers lunch breaks during the day-be able to work with all ages Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children using clear English language skills; address any behavioral or safety concerns promptly. Maintain accurate records of daily trips, vehicle inspections, incident reports, and student attendance logs. Conduct vehicle safety checks regularly, including heavy lifting of equipment if necessary, to ensure the vehicle remains in optimal condition. Experience Proven experience driving buses or vans in a commercial or school setting is highly preferred; familiarity with school policy knowledge is advantageous. Strong understanding of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and transportation safety regulations applicable to school buses and transit vehicles. Experience working with children or in environments requiring behavior management and student discipline skills. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; knowledge of emergency response procedures for transportation is essential. Excellent communication skills in English; ability to respond quickly to traffic changes and emergency situations with professionalism.
