Senior Assistant Production Manager Job Summary Our team is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Escort Pilot Car Driver to support the transportation and delivery of large modular units throughout Michigan and surrounding regional areas. The Escort Pilot Car Driver plays a critical role in safely moving oversized and over-dimensional loads by escorting trucks, monitoring road conditions, identifying potential hazards, communicating with drivers and team members, and helping ensure compliance with state and local transportation regulations. This position is ideal for someone who is safety-conscious, reliable, comfortable traveling, and able to remain focused and calm while working around large equipment and oversized loads. What You'll Do Operate a pilot/escort vehicle in front of or behind oversized loads to help ensure a safe travel path. Maintain constant awareness of traffic, road conditions, obstacles, clearances, and potential hazards. Communicate clearly with truck drivers, ground crews, and other team members using two-way radios and other communication equipment. Assist truck drivers and the Modular Management Team from the point of origin through delivery. Help prepare modular units for transportation and assist with unloading, unhooking, staging, and positioning units at storage yards or job sites. Help drivers safely navigate tight turns, obstacles, low bridges, power lines, and other potential clearance issues. Monitor changing road and weather conditions and adjust accordingly. Properly position and maintain warning signs, flags, lights, cones, and other safety equipment. Assist with coordinating with law enforcement, transportation officials, project coordinators, and other stakeholders when necessary. Conduct regular inspections of the escort vehicle and ensure required equipment is in safe working condition. Assist the ground crew with securing modular units to transportation trailers. Assist with setting cribbing and other materials used to safely secure modular units. Follow all company safety policies and applicable Federal, State, OSHA, MIOSHA, and DOT requirements. Maintain regular and dependable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. At least 3 years of related work experience . Valid driver's license. Valid automobile insurance. Must be 21 years of age or older . Ability to travel throughout Michigan and surrounding regional areas as needed. Ability to work flexible hours, including extended driving periods when required. Strong knowledge of Michigan roadways and transportation regulations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to remain focused, calm, and alert while driving for extended periods. Strong commitment to safety, dependability, and punctuality. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Preferred Pilot/escort car certification, or ability to obtain certification upon hire. CDL driver's license. Previous experience escorting oversized or over-dimensional loads. Commercial driving experience. Experience working with modular construction, transportation, heavy equipment, or construction. Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed directions. Physical & Work Requirements This position requires the ability to: Sit for extended periods while operating an escort vehicle. Stand, squat, bend, crouch, stretch, and move around large modular units and equipment. Lift and move safety equipment such as signs, flags, cones, and related materials. Lift up to 75 pounds at a time. Work around large equipment and modular structures, including areas above, below, and around large units. Safely use phones, radios, power tools, and standard construction/building equipment. Work independently while maintaining communication with the transportation and project teams. Travel locally, statewide, and regionally as required. Work in a fast-paced, occasionally high-stress environment while maintaining attention to safety and detail.

Pay:

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
