Job Description

Driver
  • Adult Day Transportation We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-focused Driver to transport adults with disabilities and other community members throughout the Red Wing area.
This position plays an important role in ensuring passengers arrive safely to and from programs, residences, and community locations while providing respectful and supportive customer service. This route includes transporting individuals ages 18-76 with varying levels of physical and developmental disabilities. Drivers must be attentive, patient, and committed to passenger safety at all times. The current route driver will assist with hands-on training from July 1, 2026 through July 23, 2026 prior to retirement to help ensure a smooth transition. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safely transport passengers to and from designated locations Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle as needed Ensure passengers are safely escorted into their residence or destination when required Provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all passengers Maintain awareness of passengers requiring additional assistance or supervision Follow all company safety procedures and DOT regulations Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Maintain accurate route, mileage, and passenger documentation Communicate professionally with dispatch, staff, caregivers, and program personnel Maintain a clean and safe vehicle environment Respond calmly and professionally in unexpected situations Qualifications Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements preferred (or willingness to obtain depending on vehicle type) Ability to pass DOT physical, background check, and drug screening Strong attendance and reliability Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism Experience working with individuals with disabilities, seniors, or vulnerable populations is preferred but not required Training & Support The selected candidate will receive hands-on route and passenger training with the current driver from July 1, 2026 through July 23, 2026 before assuming the route independently.
Additional training provided may include:
CPR and First Aid training Passenger assistance and wheelchair securement procedures Safety and emergency response protocols Working with individuals with varying physical and developmental disabilities Company and DOT safety procedures No prior experience working with adults with disabilities is required. We are willing to train the right candidate with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service.
