Job Description
Preschool Van Driver Position Summary The Preschool Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting preschool children to and from the childcare center, school, and designated locations. The driver provides dependable, courteous, and professional transportation while maintaining a safe, nurturing environment for young children. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely transport preschool children according to established routes and schedules. Follow all federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding child transportation. Conduct required vehicle safety inspections before and after each trip. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained vehicle. Ensure children are properly secured in age- and size-appropriate safety restraints. Assist children safely when entering and exiting the vehicle. Maintain accurate attendance and transportation records. Complete required transportation and incident reports. Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, teachers, and center staff. Monitor children during transportation and maintain appropriate supervision. Report any safety concerns, vehicle problems, accidents, or incidents immediately to management. Follow center policies and procedures regarding child safety, confidentiality, and emergency situations. Maintain a calm, patient, and positive attitude when working with young children. Perform other duties as assigned by the Preschool Director or Center Administrator. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid driver's license with a safe driving record. Must meet all state licensing requirements for childcare transportation. Previous experience transporting children is preferred. Must be dependable, punctual, responsible, and safety-conscious. Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and staff. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations. Must successfully complete required background checks and screenings. Physical Requirements Ability to assist young children safely in and out of the vehicle. Ability to sit for extended periods while driving. Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to maintain a clean and safe transportation environment. Work Schedule The schedule may include morning and afternoon transportation routes, with additional hours as needed based on the preschool's operational needs. Position Type Part-Time / Full-Time, depending on center needs. Pay:
