Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dependable Patient Transport Driver to join our dedicated healthcare transportation team in all surrounding areas: Cornelius, Charlotte, Hunterville & Lake Norman. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. Your positive attitude, excellent driving skills, and commitment to patient care will help ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for every individual you serve. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. Duties Safely operate passenger vans, shuttle buses, or personal vehicles to transport patients within local routes, adhering strictly to traffic laws and transportation regulations. Assist patients with boarding and disembarking vehicles, providing courteous support and ensuring their comfort throughout the journey. Maintain clear communication with healthcare staff and clients to coordinate pick-up and drop-off times efficiently. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and ensure cleanliness of the transport vehicles. Handle heavy lifting when necessary, such as assisting patients with mobility aids or luggage, following proper manual handling procedures. Use GPS navigation systems to follow designated routes accurately and optimize travel times. Document transport activities accurately in logs or electronic records, including any incidents or delays that occur during shifts. Qualifications Proven experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, chauffeur, or shuttle driver with a valid driver's license. Experience operating passenger vans, shuttle buses, or similar passenger vehicles; familiarity with limousine or Driving roles is a plus. Knowledge of GPS navigation tools and local driving routes to ensure timely arrivals. Strong understanding of traffic regulations at the state level and adherence to transportation safety standards. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks related to patient transfer support. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and healthcare staff. Prior medical transportation experience is highly desirable but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates. Good maintenance awareness for vehicle upkeep and troubleshooting minor mechanical issues. Strong communication skills combined with a professional appearance and demeanor suitable for representing our organization.
