Approximately 65% Hillcrest Silver Ridge | 35% Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a dependable, safety-focused, and service-minded Chauffeur to support transportation needs primarily at Hillcrest Silver Ridge, with additional support at Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna. This role will spend approximately 65% of its time supporting Hillcrest Silver Ridge and 35% supporting Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna, helping residents get to appointments, outings, and other scheduled destinations safely and comfortably. As a Chauffeur, you will help bring that mission to life by providing safe, dependable transportation while also supporting vehicle care, documentation, recreation needs, and other community responsibilities when needed. What You'll Do As a Chauffeur, you will work closely with community teams to coordinate transportation, maintain company vehicles, and provide a positive experience for residents throughout each trip.
You will:
Safely transport residents to and from scheduled appointments using Hillcrest vehicles. Provide transportation support primarily for Hillcrest Silver Ridge and regularly assist Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna. Help coordinate transportation schedules and communicate with residents regarding transportation needs. Provide friendly, respectful, and professional assistance throughout each resident's trip. Complete required mileage documentation and incident reports when necessary. Inspect vehicles before and after transportation trips. Refuel vehicles and ensure appropriate fuel levels are maintained. Monitor vehicle condition and promptly communicate maintenance or safety concerns. Help keep Hillcrest vehicles clean, organized, and ready for use. Support transportation needs for resident outings, special events, and community activities. Assist the Recreation team with special events when needed. Support transportation needs of other Hillcrest service lines when appropriate. Assist with maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities as operational needs allow. Transport recyclable materials to the recycling center as needed. Purchase snacks and beverages for community vending machines. Assist with cleaning, stocking, and maintaining vending machines. Work collaboratively with Administrative, Environmental Services, Recreation, and community leadership teams. Assist with additional transportation and community responsibilities as assigned. The position combines resident transportation, vehicle inspections and maintenance, documentation, community support, and coordination across both Hillcrest Silver Ridge and Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna. The right candidate will be patient, flexible, and comfortable moving between two Hillcrest communities based on transportation needs. You should be someone who can manage a changing schedule, communicate clearly, and provide a consistently positive experience for residents.
Ideal candidates will have:
A safe and responsible driving history. Previous experience as a chauffeur, driver, transportation specialist, senior living team member, customer-service professional, or similar role preferred. A genuine interest in working with aging adults. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A friendly, patient, and service-focused approach. Strong attention to vehicle safety and maintenance needs. Dependability and consistent follow-through with scheduled transportation. Strong organization and time-management skills. Ability to manage transportation needs across multiple communities. Flexibility to adjust based on resident appointments, outings, and operational priorities. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or unexpected situations. Willingness to assist other departments when transportation responsibilities allow. Comfort using technology and other resources needed to coordinate transportation. Ability to work independently while remaining part of a collaborative team. Education & Credentials High school diploma or equivalent required. At least one year of experience in a similar position preferred. Valid driver's license required. Must maintain an acceptable driving record and meet applicable Hillcrest insurance requirements. Why Hillcrest? The approximate 65/35 split provides a consistent primary home at Silver Ridge while giving you the opportunity to support transportation needs across more than one Hillcrest community. Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds. Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and movement as needed. Must be flexible and calm when working with residents, families, or team members during stressful situations. Must be able to safely operate company vehicles and follow applicable traffic and safety requirements. Must maintain a valid driver's license and meet applicable insurance requirements. Must be comfortable traveling between Hillcrest Silver Ridge and Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail. Must be able to utilize technology and available resources efficiently and effectively. Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. Other duties as assigned.
