School Van Driver Lincoln Park Board of Education - 3.7 Lincoln Park, NJ Job Details Part-time From $28 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Route driving School Bus Endorsement High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description One part-time driver position available for daily routes Monday through Friday. The van driver is responsible for safely transporting students in between school and their designated pick-up/drop-off locations.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma 2. Must have a valid Type S school bus certificate issued by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission 3. Satisfies additional health requirements as the Board may require 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable 5. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status It is important to note that as of July 1, 2025 CDL licenses are not required to drive school transportation vans of 9 passengers or less: The basic qualification for this position is a traditional driver's license.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Follows the assigned schedule and is responsible for reporting lateness to the proper authority in a timely manner. 2. Transports only authorized students and staff, and discharges students only at authorized stops. 3. Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus and maintains discipline when students are in the vehicle. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority. 4. Observes and obeys all traffic laws and mandatory safety regulations for school vehicles. 5. Reports all accidents and completes required reports. 6. Performs routine vehicle inspections and reports concerns or knowledge of any mechanical defects or vehicle performance issues to the proper authority in a timely manner. 7. Participates in all required training for drivers as set forth by New Jersey Administrative Code and must file a certification with the Business Administrator that the training has been completed as needed. 8. Maintains the cleanliness of the assigned vehicle. 9. Exercises responsible leadership during school trips.
