Responsibilities Safely operate passenger vans, adhering to all traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including emergency stop procedures and first aid protocols such as CPR. Prepare and serve nutritious meals in accordance with childcare standards and dietary guidelines while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Conduct vehicle inspections before each shift to ensure safety equipment is functional and report any maintenance issues immediately. Respond quickly to traffic changes or route adjustments to ensure timely arrivals while prioritizing passenger safety at all times. Uphold child care standards by managing student behavior effectively and enforcing discipline policies in a positive manner. Complete accurate logs of transportation activities, meal counts, incidents, and vehicle maintenance records. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, emergency response procedures for transportation, and transportation safety regulations. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training will be provided if necessary. Ability to perform heavy lifting. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, caregivers, and team members. Familiarity with child behavior management techniques and student discipline policies. Knowledge of school policy guidelines related to transportation services and child safety standards. Ability to respond quickly to traffic changes or route modifications while maintaining focus on passenger safety.
