Position Summary The Passenger Driver provides safe, dependable transportation for Club members between schools, Boys & Girls Club locations, field trips, athletic events and other approved activities. This position follows assigned routes and schedules, completes required vehicle and passenger-safety procedures, maintains accurate counts and communicates delays, incidents or vehicle concerns promptly. The successful driver is alert, patient, emotionally steady and professional and understands that transporting children requires sound judgment, consistent boundaries and close coordination with Club staff.

What success looks like:

Members are transported safely and released only through approved procedures; routes are completed reliably; passenger counts and required records are accurate; the vehicle is inspected, fueled and clean; concerns are reported immediately; and youth, families, schools and coworkers experience calm, respectful service. Responsibilities Safely operate passenger vehicles such as vans, shuttles, or buses on local routes, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of children and staff. Follow all traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and company policies to maintain safety standards at all times. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing friendly customer service and ensuring comfort during transit. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety. Use GPS navigation systems to follow designated routes accurately and efficiently. Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors to coordinate schedules and address any concerns or delays. Handle physical tasks such as heavy lifting when necessary for loading or unloading equipment or luggage while maintaining safety protocols. Requirements At least 21 years of age. High school diploma or GED. Valid State of Oklahoma driver license appropriate for the vehicle assigned and ability to maintain required driving eligibility throughout employment. Acceptable driving record, including no DUI convictions or reckless-driving incidents, as determined by BGCOKC requirements and applicable law. Passenger-driving experience and demonstrated knowledge of traffic laws, highway-safety practices and accident-prevention precautions. Ability to read and follow routes, schedules, maps, written procedures and safety instructions and to complete required records accurately. Strong attention, judgment, communication, reliability, emotional regulation and customer-service skills. Ability to work respectfully with children, families and coworkers from diverse backgrounds and to maintain appropriate professional boundaries. Ability to complete required background screening, driving-record review, drug/alcohol-related requirements, orientation, safety training and job-related certifications. Preferred Qualifications Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement and, when applicable, School Bus endorsement; required if the assigned vehicle or route legally requires it. Three or more years of professional bus, van or passenger-driving experience. Two or more years of experience working with children or teens. Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe. Spanish-English bilingual skills.
