About Compass House Compass House is an accredited Clubhouse International program serving adults living with mental health conditions in Southern Oregon. Through the 77-year-old, evidence-based Clubhouse Model, we provide a recovery-oriented, community-based environment where members and staff work side-by-side to build skills, relationships, employment opportunities, and meaningful social and community connections. This non-clinical model of psychosocial rehabilitation improves the emotional, physical, and mental well-being of people who live with severe and persistent mental illness. Our task-oriented program builds purpose and social connection while providing transferable work, home, and life skills. Members receive assistance with employment, education, housing resources, financial literacy, social connection, and health and wellness. About the Position Compass House is seeking dependable, personable, and safety-conscious Van Drivers to provide reliable transportation for our members throughout the Medford area. Transportation is an important part of making the Clubhouse accessible. For many of our members, having a dependable way to get to and from Compass House means being able to participate in meaningful work, build relationships, pursue employment and education, and stay connected to their community. Our Van Drivers do more than provide transportation. They are often among the first people our members interact with at the beginning of their day and the last people they see before heading home. We are looking for drivers who can provide a transportation experience that is safe, dependable, welcoming, and respectful. Schedule & Hours Compass House needs approximately 20 hours per week of transportation coverage , primarily Monday through Friday. Transportation is generally needed for approximately two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon . We recognize that a split-shift schedule may work well for some candidates but not for others. Because of this, we are open to hiring either one or two Van Drivers , depending on candidate availability. The position may be structured as: One part-time Van Driver working approximately 20 hours per week , covering both the morning and afternoon transportation shifts; or Two part-time Van Drivers working approximately 10 hours per week each , allowing one employee to cover the morning transportation schedule and another to cover the afternoon schedule. We are happy to consider applicants interested in either 10 or 20 hours per week . Applicants should indicate their preferred availability when applying. Primary Responsibilities Safely transport Compass House members to and from the Clubhouse and other approved community destinations. Follow established transportation routes and schedules. Provide dependable and timely morning and/or afternoon transportation. Create a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment for members while riding in Compass House vehicles. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and member confidentiality. Conduct basic pre-trip vehicle safety checks. Promptly communicate vehicle maintenance or safety concerns. someone who is or is willing to become CPR/First Aid certified. Help keep Compass House vehicles clean, fueled, and ready for use. Maintain required transportation, mileage, and vehicle documentation. Communicate effectively with members and Compass House staff regarding transportation needs, delays, or schedule changes. Follow Compass House transportation, vehicle, confidentiality, and safety policies.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, patient, personable, and comfortable interacting with a diverse group of adults. Successful candidates should:

Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Be comfortable safely operating a passenger van. Be dependable and punctual, particularly for scheduled transportation routes. Demonstrate good judgment and a strong commitment to passenger safety. Communicate respectfully and effectively with adults from a variety of backgrounds. Be able to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries. Be able to work independently while communicating effectively with the Compass House team. Successfully complete required background and driving-record checks. Compensation $17.00-$19.00 per hour, depending on experience. Starting pay will be based on relevant experience, including professional driving, passenger transportation, human services, or similar experience. These are part-time positions and are not eligible for Compass House's employee benefits package. Why Compass House?
