JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Senior Center Attendant assists with the daily operations of the Senior Center by coordinating participant activities, supporting recreational programs, overseeing facility operations, and providing exceptional customer service to older adults. This position serves as a lead worker by coordinating senior trips and transportation services, assisting with facility rentals and special events, and supporting the safe and efficient operation of the Senior Center. The Lead Senior Center Attendant also operates City passenger vehicles to transport participants to and from the Senior Center, scheduled activities, and community events while ensuring participant safety and compliance with established transportation procedures. This position will also serve as back up to building attendants when needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Program and Activity Coordination Assists with coordinating and implementing senior programs, recreational activities, excursions, and special events. Researches, schedules, and coordinates trip destinations, including communicating with venues regarding accessibility, group accommodations, pricing, and senior discounts. Prepares registration materials, attendance records, promotional flyers, waivers, and other program documentation. Collects fees and maintains records for trips, special events, and program participation. Customer Service and Participant Support Greets participants and visitors, provides information regarding programs, activities, transportation services, and facility rentals, and delivers courteous and professional customer service. Assists participants with general needs and provides appropriate assistance to individuals with mobility or other physical limitations while promoting dignity, independence, and inclusion. Responds to participant questions and concerns and refers complex issues to supervisory staff as appropriate. Transportation Services Safely operates City passenger vehicles to transport participants to and from the Senior Center, scheduled programs, excursions, appointments, and community events. Conducts pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and reports maintenance or safety concerns. Coordinates routine vehicle maintenance and assists in maintaining transportation schedules and records. Assists passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility devices in accordance with established safety procedures. Facility Operations Monitors front desk operations, answers telephones, performs routine clerical duties, and maintains participant records. Opens, closes, and secures the facility as assigned. Assists with facility rentals, room setup, special event preparation, and cleanup. Performs routine walkthroughs to ensure the facility is clean, safe, and ready for daily operations and reports maintenance or safety concerns. Administrative Support Maintains accurate records, prepares reports, performs routine data entry, and assists with administrative functions supporting Senior Center operations. Supports inventory, supply management, and other departmental activities as assigned. Performs additional duties as assigned that fall within the scope of the job functions.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requires a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of customer service principles and senior program operations. Knowledge of safe passenger transportation practices and vehicle safety procedures. Knowledge of basic office procedures, recordkeeping, and cash handling practices. Skilled in the use of computers, Microsoft Office applications, office equipment, and participant registration software. Skilled in providing courteous and professional customer service to participants, families, and the public. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to organize work, coordinate multiple activities, and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to establish and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with participants, coworkers, volunteers, community partners, and the public. Ability to safely operate a passenger vehicle and follow established transportation procedures. Ability to assist individuals with varying physical abilities while maintaining dignity, professionalism, and respect. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support facility operations and special events.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
The candidate must have a valid, US, driver's license. Texas Commercial Driver License (CDL) preferred Must successfully complete any required defensive driving or passenger transportation training. The candidate must have an active CPR/First-Aid certification

$15.45 - $20.60 per hour
