Position Overview We are looking for a reliable, caring, and energetic School-Age Teacher & Van Driver to join our team! This position will primarily work with our school-age children, providing a safe, positive, and engaging environment before and after school. A key responsibility of this position is transporting children to and from local elementary schools in a Benchmark Learning Center van, so we are looking for someone who is a confident, responsible driver with a clean driving record. This position is available as either a full-time position or a split-shift position focused on our before- and after-school hours. Full-time team members will also assist in classrooms with other age groups throughout the center outside of school-age and transportation hours. Responsibilities Provide attentive and engaging care for school-age children before and after school Safely transport children to and from local elementary schools using a Benchmark Learning Center van Follow all transportation procedures, safety requirements, and established school routes Ensure children are safely accounted for during all school pick-ups, drop-offs, and transitions Create a positive and welcoming environment that encourages independence, friendships, and age-appropriate social-emotional development Plan and participate in engaging activities for school-age children Maintain appropriate supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times Communicate effectively and compassionately with children, families, coworkers, and school staff Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and strong time-management skills Assist in classrooms with other age groups throughout the center as needed Support daily classroom and center routines, including organization, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment Qualifications Valid driver's license required Clean driving record required Must be a safe, responsible, and confident driver Previous childcare experience is preferred Experience working with school-age children is a plus Reliable, punctual, and able to follow a consistent transportation schedule Positive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills Comfortable working with children of various ages as needed Must meet all state licensing requirements for childcare employment, including required background checks Why You'll Love Working Here Supportive, collaborative team environment On-the-job training and opportunities for professional development Opportunity to build meaningful relationships with children and families A fun, active position with variety throughout the day A chance to make a real impact in children's lives every day
