Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Daycare Van Driver to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting children to and from daycare facilities, ensuring punctuality, comfort, and safety at all times. Your enthusiasm for driving and commitment to excellent customer service will help create a positive experience for families and children alike. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of families by providing reliable transportation services with professionalism and care. Duties Safely operate passenger vans, shuttle buses, or similar vehicles to transport children between homes, schools, and daycare centers following established routes. Adhere strictly to local traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and safety protocols during all driving activities. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels. Assist children with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, ensuring their safety during all stages of transit. Maintain clear communication with parents, caregivers, and daycare staff regarding schedules or any delays. Keep accurate records of trips, mileage logs, and vehicle maintenance needs. Perform light vehicle maintenance tasks such as fueling or basic cleaning to ensure vehicle readiness. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with bus driving or shuttle driving preferred. Proven experience as a delivery driver or chauffeur driver; familiarity with passenger van operation is highly desirable. Knowledge of GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Ability to handle manual handling tasks including loading/unloading children's belongings safely. Excellent communication skills for interacting professionally with parents, children, and colleagues. Demonstrated adherence to traffic regulations and safety standards in a passenger vehicle environment. Experience in medical transportation or paratransit services is a plus; familiarity with school bus driving or limousine services is beneficial. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to manage local driving routes confidently. Capable of heavy lifting when necessary for loading supplies or assisting children as needed. Reliable and punctual with a focus on maintaining consistent schedules.
