Trauma Surgery Job in Asheville, North Carolina

We are seeking an experienced Locums Trauma Surgery Physician to provide high-quality coverage at a busy trauma service in Asheville, North Carolina. This role offers a consistent monthly schedule, a supportive team environment, and exposure to a high-acuity patient population.

Position Details Schedule:

14 shifts per month (12-hour shifts)

Day Shift:

7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (10.5 hours)

Night Shift:

5:30 PM - 7:00 AM (13.5 hours)

Additional Coverage:

Nights, weekends, and holidays required 24-hour shifts available but not mandatory Call room available for night shift

Patient Volume:

Approx. 35 patients per day, shared among covering providers

Setting:

Hospital-based trauma service Required Responsibilities Provide acute trauma and emergency surgical care.

Perform required procedures including:

Tube thoracostomy Central venous catheter placement Arterial line placement (preferred) Participate in trauma activations, admissions, consultations, and inpatient management. Collaborate closely with trauma team members, intensivists, and emergency medicine providers. Requirements Board Certified in Trauma Surgery, General Surgery, or Surgical Critical Care Active North Carolina medical license Active
