Schedule/Hours 12-hour night shifts Every other weekend and one major holiday required Required Qualifications Current RN license, eligible for or covered by compact Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (3 years preferred) Proficient in mechanical ventilation, sedation management, and vasoactive drip titration Skilled with peripheral IV starts, lab draws, EKG rhythm strip interpretation Experience with ventilators, sedation, and titrating vasoactive drips/pressors Neuro, Impella, CRRT, and cardiac surgery patient experience preferred BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required Ability to pass an EKG exam at orientation Responsibilities Deliver patient-focused, evidence-based ICU care in a 24-bed high-acuity unit Conduct and analyze assessments, implement treatment plans, and evaluate patient outcomes Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and coordinate plans of care Serve as a liaison for families and advocate for patient needs Mentor fellow nurses and contribute to ongoing educational initiatives Safely administer medications and support advanced life support modalities Travel Assignment Perks Tax-advantaged stipends for housing and meals Premium pay packages for travel nurses Comprehensive healthcare coverage and 401(k) retirement plan Dedicated travel support and licensure assistance Job security and continuous assignment opportunities Advance your career as an ICU RN while experiencing the charm and endless possibilities that Mechanicsville, VA has to offer.
