Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Dosimetrist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical physics, radiation therapy, and dosimetry, with a passion for delivering precise treatment planning across diverse clinical settings. This role offers the opportunity to work in various healthcare environments, providing vital support to radiation oncologists and medical teams while ensuring optimal patient care. The Travel Dosimetrist will be responsible for developing accurate radiation treatment plans, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all procedures. Duties Prepare and calculate radiation dose distributions using advanced dosimetry software, ensuring precise targeting of cancerous tissues. Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiology staff to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Review and interpret medical imaging data such as CT scans, mammography, and other diagnostic images to inform treatment strategies. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to radiation exposure, including proper calibration and maintenance of equipment. Maintain comprehensive documentation of treatment plans, procedures, and patient records in accordance with regulatory standards. Stay current with advancements in radiotherapy techniques, physiology knowledge, and medical terminology to enhance treatment accuracy. Provide guidance and training to clinical staff on dosimetry procedures and emerging technologies in acute care settings. Travel between healthcare facilities as required to support multiple sites, ensuring consistent quality of care across locations. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dosimetrist specializing in radiation therapy with a focus on critical care environments. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to oncology and radiology disciplines. Hands-on experience with CT-based treatment planning systems and medical imaging modalities such as mammography. Familiarity with radiation therapy protocols, calibration procedures, and safety standards for radiation exposure management. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex imaging data accurately. Certification or licensure as a Dosimetrist or equivalent credential is highly preferred. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and work effectively in fast-paced clinical settings.
