Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care across diverse clinical settings. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in a variety of environments, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and community health programs. As a Travel LPN, you will utilize your comprehensive nursing skills to assess patient needs, administer treatments, and support recovery and well-being. Your expertise will help ensure seamless patient experiences while advancing your career in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Duties Perform thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine care needs. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and catheter care, following strict protocols and HIPAA regulations. Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care for diverse populations. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to document medical records, medical documentation, and patient progress efficiently. Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing, medical imaging coordination, and diagnostic testing like spinal taps or sonography. Assist with advanced procedures including airway management, ventilator support, catheterization, and sterile processing techniques. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in urgent care, emergency medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), Level I & II trauma centers, and post-acute care settings to deliver comprehensive patient care. Support discharge planning and case management efforts to ensure smooth transitions from hospital to home or community-based services. Engage in patient education on health coaching topics such as nutrition, medication administration, wound care (including suturing), and disease management strategies like infectious disease or geriatrics. Experience Proven experience as an LPN working in hospital settings such as ICU, emergency room, or trauma centers; experience with Level I & II trauma centers preferred. Demonstrated expertise in critical care environments including acute care units and medical-surgical floors; familiarity with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding is advantageous. Prior exposure to long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities; experience with dementia or Alzheimer's disease is highly valued. Skilled in working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities across home & community care settings. Strong background in managing complex cases involving pain management, hospice care, infectious diseases, or pediatric populations including neonatal ventilator or Toddler care experience. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks; knowledge of CPT coding for procedures is a plus. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with physiology knowledge and medical terminology expertise to provide safe and effective nursing interventions. Ability to perform venipuncture (venipuncture), phlebotomy (blood draws), injection administration, tube feeding management, and use of Hoyer lifts for mobility assistance.
