Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-MS Job Type Travel Nestled in the rolling hills of eastern Kentucky, travel assignments in Virgie offer a unique blend of professional growth and personal adventure. This dynamic role in a Surgical/Ortho Med Surg/Telemetry unit provides invaluable exposure to a Level II Trauma Center, fostering development through collaboration with diverse teams and innovative healthcare leaders. Gain hands-on experience with a wide patient population, elevate your care standards, and chart your next professional milestone while enhancing your resume with trauma and float experience.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour night shifts (no blocked scheduling) 48 hours guaranteed per week (36 hours not accepted) Every other weekend and holiday required (unless time off approved) 8-week contract, start
ASAP Qualifications:
Active KY or Compact RN License
AHA BLS, AHA
ACLS, and NIHSS (required upon submittal) Minimum 1 year of RN experience in Med Surg/Tele, with Level I or II trauma exposure EKG test completion required during compliance Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips Charting experience with Care View/EPIC preferred (on-site training if needed) COVID vaccination required, or weekly testing with approved declination
Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive care to a diverse patient population (patient ratio 1:6) Float between Med Surg/Tele units and assist as needed in other in-patient areas, including aide tasks Provide resilient, adaptable support in a high-acuity environment Uphold strong team collaboration and excellent communication with colleagues and leadership
