Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-MS Job Type Travel Discover your next adventure in the scenic Appalachian region of Kentucky as a travel RN working night shifts in the Med Surg/Telemetry units. Virgie, KY offers a truly unique blend of natural landscapes, friendly small-town atmosphere, and proximity to local hiking, parks, and cultural activities—making it an ideal setting to recharge during your downtime. Working in a 340-bed Level II Trauma Center, you'll build your résumé by navigating diverse clinical scenarios, collaborating with seasoned healthcare leaders, and gaining insight into multifaceted patient care approaches. This assignment offers the chance to grow both personally and professionally, learning new charting systems and broadening your skillset in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour night shifts 48 hours per week; 8-week contract Every other weekend and holiday required (unless granted time off) No blocked scheduling Floating required throughout all in-patient Med Surg/Tele units
Qualifications/Experience:
KY or Compact RN license BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA) Minimum 1 year as an RN in Med Surg/Tele, with Level I or II Trauma experience Proficiency reading/interpreting telemetry strips Willingness to complete EKG test during onboarding Prior experience with Care View or EPIC preferred (training available) Hardworking, adaptable, and reliable team player COVID vaccine required (declination accepted for medical/religious reasons with weekly testing)
Responsibilities:
Deliver patient-focused care in Med Surg and Telemetry Float across in-patient units; occasionally assist as aide Maintain accurate charting and support care continuity Uphold safety and infection control protocols
