Role Responsibilities:
Deliver compassionate, high-quality post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients (ages 0-17) and occasionally adults, covering a range of surgical specialties (except cardiac). Maintain vigilant patient monitoring in an open bay setting, working within a close-knit, supportive team structure. Manage common ICU infusions (heparin, insulin, some cardiac), interpret telemetry, and provide recovery care in collaboration with PACU educators and dedicated support staff. Utilize advanced technology such as EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication systems, and Philips monitors. Practice flexibility including floating to adult care if the unit requires.
Schedule & Support:
Scrubs provided; free parking. Care ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 based on patient acuity. Benefit from dedicated charge nurse/manager support, a unit educator, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications:
Active RN license with BLS and PALS.
PICU or pediatric PACU experience:
Minimum 1 year required, 2 years preferred. At least one prior travel assignment completed. Adaptable, motivated, and effective in a team-oriented environment.
