Category Nursing - RN-PACU Job Type Travel Nestled in beautiful Kernersville, NC, this travel nursing assignment offers not only invaluable career exposure within a renowned academic medical center, but also the chance to enjoy the vibrant culture, charming scenery, and warm Southern hospitality of the area. Whether you're passionate about discovering local cuisine, exploring the scenic countryside, or simply relaxing during downtime, Kernersville provides the perfect backdrop for adventure and rejuvenation between shifts. Professionally, you'll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, 885-bed teaching hospital with both Level 1 Trauma and Stroke Center designations. Working within the 20-bay Pediatric PACU, you'll care for a diverse pediatric patient population, covering almost all surgical specialties (excluding cardiac). This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with seasoned healthcare professionals, leveraging state-of-the-art technology in a supportive environment with a strong "all hands on deck" spirit.
Schedule/Hours:
Variety of shift options available (exact hours provided during interview)
Qualifications:
Active RN license 1 year minimum experience in pediatric critical care (2 years preferred) Prior travel assignment required BLS and PALS certifications Strong clinical skills, including management of gtts (heparin, insulin, some cardiac drips), telemetry monitoring Flexibility to occasionally care for adult patients as needed Team-oriented, resourceful, confident to seek support as needed
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality PACU care, predominantly to pediatric patients (ages 0-17) Monitor telemetry and support post-op recovery Collaborate with anesthesia, PACU educator, charge nurse, transporters, and HUC/receptionist Adapt to floating needs that may include adult patient care Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors
