Category Respiratory - Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Type Travel Set in the heart of picturesque Mount Washington, KY, this travel assignment offers more than just professional advancement—it's a gateway to exploring charming small-town life and nearby metropolitan experiences during your off hours. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist on this assignment, you'll engage with a renowned transplant and critical care unit, broadening your clinical expertise and learning from a multidisciplinary team known for leadership in adult critical care. Mount Washington combines scenic beauty with southern hospitality, making it an ideal destination for healthcare professionals looking to balance work with adventure. Between shifts, enjoy local parks, unique eateries, and energizing excursions to nearby cities.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour shifts: 6:00am-6:00pm or 6:00pm-6:00am Weekend rotation: 4 weekend shifts per month Holidays as needed Monthly scheduling cycle No on-call requirement
Qualifications:
Valid and current RRT license (CRT considered with strong experience) Minimum of 1 year of experience, including adult critical care BLS and ACLS certifications Open to first-time travelers with previous adult critical care background
Preferred Experience & Skills:
Strong knowledge in oxygen and aerosol treatments, ventilator management, trach care, CPT, suctioning, PEP therapy, ABG, and ABLS Willingness to learn pediatric respiratory care Flexibility to float to affiliated rehab settings if needed Ability to manage a patient load capped at 6 ventilators in ICU Familiarity with equipment: Cerner EMR, Omnicell, Phillips monitors, V60 bipap, PB 980, NK series ventilators, Hamilton MR-1, Airvo/High flow, and others
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality respiratory therapy to diverse and critically ill patients Collaborate with skilled supervisors and interdisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes Adapt to a range of patient diagnoses including COPD, cystic fibrosis, LVAD, and heart failure Participate in facility and unit orientations to ensure smooth transition Follow all safety and compliance protocols, including wearing Ceil Blue scrubs
