Travel Stepdown Nurse (RN) in Sumner, TX

This contract role offers the chance to work in a modern, 154-bed facility known for serving both Northeast Texas and Southeast Oklahoma, operating as the most advanced hospital within a 70-mile radius. Recognized as a Level 3 Trauma Center and a Level 1 NICU, the hospital has received designations including Joint Commission Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Advanced Primary Stroke Care Center, and ranks among the top 5% nationwide for orthopedic outcomes.

Schedule:

Four 10-hour shifts per week (Tuesday through Friday) Weekly orientation held on

Mondays Qualifications:

Active RN license At least one year of Stepdown experience All required certifications current and in hand before start date Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients in a stepdown unit Monitor and manage complex clinical conditions, following unit protocols and best practices Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans Accurately document patient status and responses to interventions Support patients and families, delivering education and discharge instructions as needed Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
