Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Travel Bring your experience as an Operating Room Technician (ORT) to an environment where your expertise enhances patient care and surgical outcomes. This contract role is an excellent opportunity to collaborate within a dynamic surgical team and make a meaningful difference through skilled support during surgical procedures.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Completion of an accredited ORT or Surgical Tech program Previous experience assisting in a variety of surgical procedures required Strong understanding of sterile technique and proper equipment handling Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to respond quickly and adapt in a fast-paced operating room setting
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the operating room before, during, and after procedures Ensure accurate instrument and supply counts, maintaining a sterile environment throughout each case Assist surgical staff with gowning, gloving, and sterile draping Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies during surgery with precise timing and attention to detail Handle specimens and surgical instruments per protocol Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptly to requests Dispose of hazardous materials and biological waste following safety regulations Participate in post-operative clean up and room turnover This position provides the chance to contribute your skills where they matter most, gain exposure to a variety of surgical cases, and work alongside experienced professionals dedicated to top-quality patient care.
