Truck Driver About Pine Canyon Growers:
Pine Canyon Growers is located in Orondo, Washington and was established in 2016. Pine Canyon Growers was created by a group of five high energy, quality growers with a passion for growing Apples, Pears and Cherries. As business became more and more difficult, they decided the best path to staying viable was to purchase their own packing hours. After leasing the current packing house for several years with Western Traders' export sales company, the opportunity arose to purchase the facility and they jumped on it, thus creating Pine Canyon Growers LLC. As a company we are focused on partnering with our growers, clients, and employees to be an industry leading fruit packaging facility. Our mission is to operate a cost-effective facility and in return provide maximum returns to our growers. Position Summary:
The trucker driver will be reporting to our Plant Manager. This position is based in our Orondo location. The truck driver will perform a variety of tasks related to day-to-day production, deliveries to and from production facility. Primary duties include driving company truck short and long distances to deliver a variety of product codes to customers in the Columbia basin. This position may also perform various warehouse duties including loading and unloading products, maintaining, handling, and moving of physical inventory within the warehouse.
Responsibilities:
  • Timely transportation of finished, raw product to and from production facility to destination as assigned.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Participate in routine preventable maintenance when necessary.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks - (could require lifting up to 50 lbs. repeatedly)
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts) in a safe manner.
  • Report defects, accidents, and or violations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Able to work with little to no supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Forklift driving experience.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Needs to be flexible with working schedule, long hours and weekends.
  • Able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Valid truck driving license. (CDL)
  • DOT Health Card & Doubles endorsement.
  • Proven experience as a truck driver.
Work Schedule:
The regular work schedule is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Due to the nature of our business, work hours and days may vary. This individual must be flexible with the work schedule and be able to work weekends when needed and during our harvest season.
