Job Description
Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in students' lives by providing expert instruction and specialized support as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. This onsite contract role, conveniently located near Greenville, MI, offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure students with visual impairments receive tailored educational experiences and reach their fullest potential. As a valued member of the professional instructional team, you'll help shape learning environments and instructional strategies that are both accessible and empowering, while playing a pivotal role in helping each student achieve their IEP goals and foster greater independence.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience teaching students with visual impairments Active and relevant teaching certification or licensure in special education for visual impairments Solid understanding of IEP processes and accommodations for visually impaired learners Ability to cultivate positive working relationships with students, families, and educational staff Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsPrimary Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and adaptive support services to students with visual impairments, both within classroom settings and individually as needed Collaborate with school personnel and families to address student needs and facilitate access to the full curriculum Develop, implement, and monitor effective IEPs and individualized accommodations Adapt instructional materials and learning environments to foster students' independence and success Serve as a resource and advocate for students' unique accessibility needs within the school community You'll enjoy a consistent 37.5-hour workweek during the 2026-2027 school year, gaining valuable experience in a supportive and professional setting.
