Youth Mentor

• Full-Time Position Overview Havenwood Academy is seeking a gritty Youth Mentor to join our organization.

As a Youth Mentor you will work with a team of other staff to support a group of 8-14 students who have experienced significant trauma; ensuring their safety, and well-being. A Day in the Life A typical day as a Youth Mentor includes: Supporting daily activities and supervising student interactions. Maintaining the schedule, boundaries, and therapeutic protocols as prescribed by the treatment team. Supporting Team Lead to ensure consistency in care and interventions. Responding to crises with de-escalation techniques and intervention strategies. Teaching guests positive coping mechanisms and reinforcing program expectations. Maintaining accurate documentation of student progress and incidents. Upholding all safety protocols and compliance requirements. Modeling and participating in the appropriate cleaning and maintenance of your assigned home.

What Does Success Look Like:

You can feel successful as a Youth Mentor at Havenwood Academy if you: Keep the guests at Havenwood safe. Behave in a relational manner, retaining your composure and staying calm and collected. Lead your team in pursuit of The Havenwood Academy mission: " We provide world class trauma treatment to children who would not otherwise receive care". Repair relationship breaks with team members and guests as needed. Maintain a comfortable, visually appealing, and clean environment in your assigned home. Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum age of 20. Ability to pass a background check & TB test. Clean Motor Vehicle Record. Experience in similar environments that share the characteristics of: volatility, uncertainty, chaos, and ambiguity is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits Starting Rate:

$17.00 per hour.

Performance-Based Raises:

$0.20

• $0.

30 per hour every six months based on 360 performance reviews.

On-Call Bonus:

$100 per week for participation in the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
