Legal Analyst Trainer Clearance:

Active DoD Secret, TS/SCI Preferred Requirement:

Education:

Juris Doctorate required. Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience.

Salary:

$110K+ Job Summary Supports the Joint Staff J7 Deputy Directorate Joint Training and Exercises in Suffolk, Virginia under the CJT contract. The contract supports all phases of the Joint Training System for large joint and combined military exercises, with emphasis on the five stages of the Joint Event Life Cycle. The analyst trainer supports the Deployable Training and Lessons Division by observing exercises and staff assistance visits, training joint force commanders and staffs, and providing feedback on operational authorities to improve readiness for crisis and conflict.

Basic Qualifications:

Thorough understanding, knowledge and experience in Operational Law and Authorities. Prior military service as an operational law attorney or equivalent interagency experience; experience as a staff judge advocate or deputy staff judge advocate. Ability to write concisely for senior leaders and executives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master of Laws (LL.M.) in national security, operational, or international law. Experience on a Combatant Command, Joint Task Force, division, afloat, or wing staff. Understanding of staff support to the commander's decision cycle, the Joint Planning Process, and advanced warfighting concepts. Experience preparing and conducting seminars or study groups for flag officers. Ability to draft operational orders and plans. Experience compiling and presenting lessons learned and after-action review material in written and oral formats. Experience with operational and strategic planning.
