Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable registered or non-registered veterinary technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and veterinary practices, demonstrating proficiency in various technical skills essential for providing high-quality care to our patients. This role involves working closely with veterinarians, assisting in medical procedures, and ensuring the well-being of animals in our facility. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures Perform laboratory tests and analyze results Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any changes to the veterinary team Provide nursing care for hospitalized animals, including feeding and administering fluids Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures Participate in dental cleanings and understand dental terminology related to veterinary practices Engage in animal husbandry practices to ensure the comfort and health of all animals Qualifications Current (and in good standing) license showing registered veterinary technician status if you are licensed. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary medicine Experience with dog handling, animal restraint, catheterization, and grooming techniques Understanding of equine care is beneficial but not mandatory Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Commitment to providing compassionate care for all animals Join our team of passionate professionals dedicated to improving the lives of pets through exceptional veterinary care. Pay:
