Job Description

Job Description Summary:
Reporting directly to the University President and serving as a member of the University's Senior Leadership team, the Vice President will (a) oversee all divisions of university enrollment including on campus, dual credit, certificate, regional, undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate; (b) lead the division of marketing to oversee digital and traditional marketing efforts and brand management related to enrollment; (c) oversee lead acquisition and prospect data management; (d) oversee retention efforts across the CU system; and (e) coordinate strategically with the Senior Leadership team to initiate positive change for the University.
Primary Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Recruitment Lead in the recruitment of all incoming students at Campbellsville University including on campus, regional, graduate, post-graduate, dual credit, and degree completion students. Create and execute enrollment strategies that utilize best practices to meet goals. Develop and implement an integrated enrollment marketing and communication plan to attract, engage, retain, and graduate students. Enrollment Team Development Oversee staffing and leadership development of team members. Demonstrate strengths managing interpersonal communication in a team environment. Provide leadership during the hiring, training, development, annual evaluation, and on-going supervision of employees, maximizing the full potential of each team member by building upon strengths and professional growth. Budget Administration Manage operating budget for enrollment. Demonstrate ability to plan strategically and analyze effectively with budgeting, financial, and business acumen. Partner with the Senior Leadership team and their administrative departments to meet enrollment and net-tuition revenue goals. Marketing & Brand Management Coordinate with marketing leadership to shape traditional and digital marketing efforts to secure inquiries, applicants, and admitted students for all degree programs. Develop presentations and materials for board meetings and executive meetings per the President's request. Work to ensure that Campbellsville University's brand is effectively communicated to prospective students via electronic and print strategy, communication funnels, social media, and other channels. Acquisition & Data Management Oversee continuous lead acquisition and prospective student follow-up ensuring accuracy, efficiency, confidentiality, and the availability of data to appropriate staff. Foster a culture of excellence in appropriately leveraging data and sharing of information, including best practices in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Monitor key performance indicators such as application completion rates, campus visits, territory performance, FAFSA filer rate, percent of Pell eligible students, percent of First-Generation College going student, and other appropriate enrollment analytics. Retention Efforts Oversee continuous lead acquisition and prospective student follow-up ensuring accuracy, efficiency, confidentiality, and the availability of data to appropriate staff. Foster a culture of excellence in appropriately leveraging data and sharing of information, including best practices in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Monitor key performance indicators such as application completion rates, campus visits, territory performance, FAFSA filer rate, percent of Pell eligible students, percent of First-Generation College going student, and other appropriate enrollment analytics. Broader University Involvement Serve as a member of the Senior Leadership team. Serve on University committees as assigned. Serve as an advocate in the community building relationships with civic leadership, religious organizations, business and corporate partnerships, and other leaders. Treat members of the campus community with fairness, dignity, and respect - seeking a spirit of unity and harmony to achieve a common mission. Fulfill other duties as assigned by the President. Goals & Expectations Specific goals identified as measures of success for the first six months to three years include: Build trust and understand the Campbellsville identity: Establish relationships across the university community, listening carefully to faculty, staff, students, and leadership. The new Vice President must gain an authentic understanding of Campbellsville's unique DNA, culture, and mission in order to earn trust and align enrollment priorities with institutional values. Assess the current state of enrollment operations: Review data trends for both recruitment and retention. Understand the various student segments—who is enrolling, persisting, and departing. Assess recruitment processes, retention metrics, and team structures to identify strengths, gaps, and immediate opportunities for improvement. Communicate priorities and set shared expectations: Demonstrate clear and consistent communication with the enrollment team, cabinet, and campus partners, establishing transparency and confidence in the VP's leadership. With the enrollment team, set clear systems for accountability and success. Elevate the professionalism and effectiveness of the enrollment team. Bring shared understanding to academic partners for the various metrics shared, opportunities for partnership, and mutual collaboration. Clarify the student journey and strengthen collaboration: Evaluate the full student journey, from lead to enrollment, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and deepen relationship-building. Intentionally invite and equip campus partners to participate in cultivating prospective student connections, making recruitment a shared responsibility across the institution. Implement modern CRM and streamline processes: Within the first year, lead the transition to a new CRM (likely Slate) and use business process analyses to evaluate policies and practices. Considering the above goal, reduce friction in the student journey for recruitment and admissions, and onboarding, while elevating the team's service and relationship-building capacity. Evaluate and refine the strategic enrollment plan the strategic enrollment plan: Understand the current strategic enrollment plan, evaluating what remains relevant and where pivots are required in this new landscape. Build out a revised comprehensive plan that sets enrollment targets for traditional undergraduate, graduate, and online programs, informed by market awareness and institutional mission, with specific attention to the international markets as well as the backyard. Strengthen student success and retention through the
SEP:
. Integrate admissions and student success strategies, within the context of the strategic enrollment plan, fostering collaboration across the University to achieve specific milestones and goals. Work alongside Academics and Student Services to identify needs by analyzing who is persisting, who is departing, and what inclusive support is required for the current student population Foster cross-campus collaboration: Build strong partnerships with academic leaders, athletics, advancement, student services, and external organizations to align enrollment strategies with program development and institutional growth. Cultivate strong cross-organizational relationships through presence, visibility, and intentional collaboration.
Develop sustainable training and systems:
Establish infrastructure and processes for continual staff training, knowledge transfer, and team stability. This will help withstand the regular turnover of admissions counselors and maintain operational continuity. Education/Credentials Master's degree from a regionally-accredited institution required; doctoral degree preferred. Relevant professional experience will be considered. Additional training or experience in data analytics, business process improvement, or organizational leadership is desirable. Demonstrated commitment to student success and retention, with experience integrating these strategies into an enrollment plan. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present effectively to internal and external stakeholders and to bring clarity to complex data and decisions. Proven leadership in hiring, supervising, and developing professional staff, including elevating professionalism, setting clear expectations, and providing training and accountability. Experience in technology adoption and CRM implementation (Slate or comparable systems), with the ability to evaluate and streamline business processes. Proven ability to work collaboratively across divisions and with senior leadership to achieve institutional goals. Experience managing departmental budgets and making data-informed decisions. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify new markets, assess ROI, and pursue innovative enrollment initiatives under financial constraints. Capacity to foster trust and credibility within diverse communities and across organizational cultures, including contexts where "outsider" leaders may face challenges building rapport.
