Warehouse Supervisor J&S Flooring | Tinton Falls, NJ | Full-Time About J&S Flooring J&S Flooring is seeking a dependable, organized, and self-motivated Warehouse Supervisor to manage daily warehouse operations at our Tinton Falls, NJ location. This is an important role supporting our installation, sales, and administrative teams by ensuring materials, supplies, tools, and job-related items are received, organized, staged, and ready when needed. This position is best suited for someone who takes ownership of their work, can stay productive independently, and understands the importance of accuracy, organization, and communication in a warehouse environment. Position Overview The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for receiving deliveries, maintaining inventory, organizing flooring materials and supplies, preparing jobs for installation crews, coordinating warehouse activity, and keeping the warehouse clean, safe, and efficient. This person will often be working independently, so reliability, honesty, good judgment, and the ability to work independently are essential. This position is full-time and includes early morning hours, with Saturday availability required for warehouse load-ups. Key Responsibilities Open, operate, and maintain the warehouse during scheduled hours. Receive flooring materials, padding, supplies, tools, and deliveries. Check incoming deliveries for accuracy, damage, and completeness. Document received materials, staged jobs, returns, transfers, and any inventory concerns. Organize and maintain inventory in a clean, safe, and efficient manner. Pull, prepare, and stage materials for upcoming installation jobs. Coordinate with installation crews for material pick-ups, returns, and load-ups. Assist with loading and unloading trucks, vans, and crew vehicles. Track inventory levels and notify management when materials or supplies need to be ordered. Maintain accurate records of materials coming in and going out of the warehouse. Keep the warehouse and dumpster area clean, organized, secure, and free of safety hazards and set up dumpster swap outs when necessary. Monitor warehouse security and ensure materials, tools, and supplies are properly stored. Identify and report damaged, missing, incorrect, or incomplete materials. Communicate clearly with office staff, sales staff, installers, vendors, and management. Support job readiness by ensuring crews have the correct materials and supplies before leaving for projects. Follow company procedures and help improve warehouse processes where needed. Operate forklift safely and maintain proper forklift certifications. Qualifications Prior warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, flooring, construction, building materials, or similar experience preferred. Ability to work independently and stay productive with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift, move, load, unload, and stage heavy materials, including flooring products. Comfortable working alone for extended periods of time. Dependable, punctual, trustworthy, and responsible. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to follow instructions, maintain records, and keep materials organized. Basic computer, tablet, or inventory system skills preferred. Forklift experience and certification is a must. Valid driver's license necessary. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods. Ability to load and unload materials safely. Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures. Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Approximately two hours availability required for warehouse load-ups Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in keeping things organized, works well independently, and understands that warehouse accuracy directly impacts installation crews, customers, and overall company operations. This person is dependable, proactive, honest, and comfortable being the primary person responsible for the warehouse during the workday. Compensation Competitive pay based on experience.
