Part-time Description:

Do you love kids, water, and making a difference? Are you the type of person who can turn nervous first swimmers into confident little fish? If so, we want YOU on our aquatics team! At the Bloomington-Normal YMCA, our Water Safety Swim Instructors do way more than teach strokes. They build confidence, create relationships, and help save lives through water safety education.

Requirements:

Must enjoy getting splashed on a daily basis Ability to stay positive even when goggles mysteriously disappear every 3 minutes Comfortable singing songs, giving high-fives, and celebrating tiny victories like they're Olympic medals Must be able to turn nervous swimmers into confident little sharks Ability to communicate with kids, parents, and teammates with kindness and energy Must understand that "watch this!" is usually followed by something unexpected Ability to multitask while holding kickboards, noodles, and a conversation all at once Comfortable spending long periods in and around water Must bring good vibes, patience, and team spirit every shift Ability to make learning fun while keeping safety the #1 priority Must be dependable swimmers count on you! Lifeguard/Swim Instructor certifications are awesome, but we can help train the right person Bonus points if you can survive listening to Baby Shark for the 47th time
