Position Overview The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for operating X-Ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring accuracy and clarity to support physicians in making informed medical decisions. In addition to providing physical assistance to patients before, during, and after imaging procedures, the X-Ray Technologist plays a key role in maintaining efficient patient workflows within the clinic. This includes applying critical thinking skills and exercising sound judgement to adapt to dynamic clinical situations and support high-quality patient care. Essential Functions Imaging Perform radiographic procedures independently as ordered, achieving a high level of quality and timeliness. Ensure imaging orders align with physician protocols to support diagnostic results and maintain billing compliance. Position patients to obtain the appropriate views of the affected area, following established procedures to ensure patient comfort, care and safety. Determine appropriate imaging techniques by selecting the correct voltage, current, and exposure time to ensure optimal image quality and patient safety. Analyze x-ray images for diagnostic quality, retaking when necessary following ALARA principles. Utilize strong teamwork and communication skills to support efficient workflows and foster a collaborative clinical environment. Demonstrate a strong understanding of X-ray procedures and protocols by committing them to memory and applying them accurately in clinical practice. Patient Care Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers through prompt response and courteous communication both verbally and written. Ensure timely and secure saving of medical images to discs when requested by patients or required by clinical care teams, supporting continuity of care and access to critical information. Upload medical images from discs to PACS, ensuring that all patient information is accurately updated to match our EMR system. Safety and Compliance Follow all safety protocols established by the National Council for Radiation Protection and Measurement (NCRP) to protect patients, staff, and oneself from radiation hazards, ensuring compliance with national standards and radiation safety in medical settings. Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs in a timely manner. Perform and record quantity and quality control checks to ensure x-ray unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies. Maintain a neat, organized, and sanitary work environment always by adhering to established infection control procedures and hygiene protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Follow safety standards set by the compliance department and participate in annual training, reporting any safety or compliance concern promptly within our compliance tracking system. Use only equipment trained to use and operate all equipment in a safe manner. Departmental Expectations Cover co-workers and cross train as necessary to meet the needs of the organization. Anticipate ways to improve patient care and experience by assisting in the evaluation, development and effectiveness of systems and protocols. Prepare and maintain supplies and order as necessary. Travel to other Panorama offices as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Licensed Radiologic Technologist, Limited Scope Operator, or registry eligible.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Perform quality diagnostic x-rays Strong customer service ethic Current certification in CPR encouraged Knowledge of basic computer skills Familiar with orthopedic x-rays in a clinical setting Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with a variety of people Ability to communicate and document clearly and concisely Knowledge/Skills Abilities Required Must have current ARRT issued X-Ray Technology certification and actively participate in professional development activities while maintaining professional affiliations and certifications. 1-2 years of prior orthopedic radiology experience preferred. Knowledge and understanding of the principles and physics of radiation including safety hazards common to radiology. Knowledge of EMR system (we currently use EPIC), HIPAA, and OSHA requirements. Knowledge of pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, surgical procedures as well as treatment modalities. Exceptional computer, interpersonal, communication, patient care, and customer service skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize, remain calm under pressure, and work with little supervision. Position hours will vary. Evening shifts may be required.
Pay Scale :
$28-$38/hour, based on experience #PANO #PAN Applications accepted until May 22, 2026
