Job Description

The Boys & Girls Club's mission is to engage Seminole Youth and encourage them to become productive contributors to society. Our goal is to provide a safe, well supervised environment for Seminole Youth to express themselves in a multiplicity of formats. The Boys & Girls Clubs provide a productive environments with afterschool homework help (Power Hour), opportunities for group interaction (games, arts & crafts, supervised outdoor activities), and opportunities for youth to express themselves in creative avenues (art, music lessons, performances, filmmaking, etc).

https://bgc.semtribe.com/ The position is based at the Big Cypress Reservation is located at 30425 Community Center Dr., Clewiston, FL 33440. If you're commuting more than 40 miles one way you may qualify for a fuel stipend. We're looking for a Youth Development Specialist to work on-site Monday through Friday with kids ages 5 to 17 years old. The schedule is generally 8am to 5pm however sometimes there may be pre-planned trainings or special events that require staying later into the evening. You would also provide coverage to the Immokalee Reservation 1261 Mary Watts Billie Dr., Immokalee, FL 34142 however we'll build in drive time between the Reservations into your schedule. Position Summary The incumbent in this position is responsible for evaluating and monitoring programs activities conducted across all Seminole Tribe of Florida's Boys & Girls Clubs, through regular observation of the interactions and behaviors exhibited by participating youth; addresses the special needs of participating youth and on-going youth behavior problems through intervention, counseling and the development of long term staffing strategies. The incumbent serves as liaison with parents, counselors and other Tribal Youth Services in regards to the needs of the participating youth.
Qualifications / Requirements
Master's Degree in Youth Development, Counseling, Family Counseling and Therapy, Social Work or related field is required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in developing and implementing programs for youth or administrating community programs or related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required. Valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of youth is required. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs. Demonstrate excellent English written and verbal skills. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. Ability to travel to all Reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
