Job Description
Passages, a non-profit service agency, provides direct and supportive services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault; provides community information and education concerning issues relating to domestic violence and sexual assault. Passages operates a shelter for victims of abuse and their children, and a low-income housing apartment complex. Passages also maintains a 24-hour crisis and referral phone service. This position is responsible services to youth witnesses/survivors of domestic violence. This position is directly supervised by the Youth Coordinator, and works closely with the Ada James Place Manager. This position must understand and support the mission of Passages, Inc. and be committed to maintaining the agency's confidentiality policy. This person must be able to work as a team player as well as independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
- Provides services to children who are witnesses to or survivors of domestic violence. This includes providing support to youth residing in shelter and Ada James Place apartments, and providing after school and summer program activities indoor and outdoor.
- Works cooperatively with other Passages' programs to assure comprehensive services to all children and families needing agency assistance.
- Works with volunteers (usually parents) to assist in the after school and summer programming.
- Other duties as assigned by the Youth Services Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Must be over 18 years old. 2. Pass a criminal and caregiver background check, federal sexual assault registry, and state sexual assault registry. 3. Must be a self-starter, motivated and creative. 4. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 5. Non-judgmental and ability to work with persons of diverse backgrounds. 6. Must be a team player. 7. Flexibility with work schedule. 8. Must have a reliable automobile, automobile insurance, and a valid driver's licensePay:
