Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiology Technician to join our team on the second shift in a full-time capacity. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in medical imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, PET scans, and mammography. This role requires a professional with strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology procedures to support urgent care, emergency room, and trauma center services. The technician will be responsible for performing high-quality imaging studies while adhering to strict safety protocols and aseptic techniques. Responsibilities Operate various diagnostic imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, CT scanners, PET scanners, mammography units, DEXA scans, and sonography devices to produce clear and accurate images. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination. Maintain detailed records of procedures performed and ensure images are properly labeled and stored in compliance with hospital policies. Follow all safety guidelines related to radiation exposure and infection control, including aseptic techniques when necessary. Collaborate with radiologists and medical staff to facilitate diagnostic evaluation and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Monitor equipment functionality regularly and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly. Assist in training new staff or students in proper imaging techniques and safety procedures. Requirements Proven experience in diagnostic radiology including X-ray, CT, PET scan, mammography, DEXA scan, sonography, and other medical imaging modalities. Knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures and emergency room or Level I trauma center experience is highly desirable. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation processes. Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control standards within a clinical setting. Ability to operate complex imaging equipment accurately while maintaining patient safety. Experience working in urgent care settings or Level II trauma centers is preferred. Certification from an accredited radiologic technology program; licensure as required by state regulations. $27.52 - $51.19 per hour
