Job Description

Summary:
The Collection Specialist will aid the Credit Manager in the collection of overdue payments and will serve as administrative support to the collections team. This role involves direct communication with clients to resolve billing issues, suggest payment plans, and secure payments on delinquent accounts. The Collections Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining positive customer relationships while minimizing the company's financial risk and improving cash flow.
Role and Responsibilities:
Proactively contact customers via phone, email, and mail to collect on accounts under $1k with past-due invoices Assist with the collection of Special Events Perform administrative tasks for the collections department, including:
  • Creating and mailing 10-day demand letters
  • Assist in completion of vendor forms requested by customers
  • Helping prepare documentation for uncollectible accounts that are to be sent to a collections agency Escalate more complex collection issues or uncooperative accounts to the Credit Manager.
Record detailed notes of all customer communications, including promises to pay and reasons for non-payment. Assist the Credit Manager and Accounts Receivable Manager with the collection of any accounts during transitional periods
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Excel Time management and workload efficiency skills Persistent in finishing work Strong communication and verbal skills
