Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our clients, providing exceptional service and support. Your ability to communicate effectively and analyze customer needs will be essential in ensuring a positive experience for our customers. Medical Billing/ DME General:
Works with company billing personnel to provide documents needed for reimbursement.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Create and submit medical claims to insurance companies. Review patient information and medical records to make sure billing codes and details are accurate. Verify insurance coverage and benefits. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and correct billing errors. Post insurance payments and adjustments to patient accounts. Prepare patient bills and explain balances or charges when needed. Contact insurance companies about claim status, denials, or payment issues. Maintain accurate billing records while following healthcare privacy rules such as HIPAA. Work with healthcare providers and medical coders to resolve documentation or coding problems. Completes verification of insurance for DME coverage and prior authorization information, including but not limited to: Deductible Effective date Claims address Completes any special instructions for billing to the patient's insurance prior to the delivery. Inform patient or patient's caregiver of benefits (what the policy reimburses). Arrange private pay billing if required. Works with patients/clients to solve a variety of problems, thereby acting as a company field representative. Promotes teamwork among co-workers, including assisting fellow office workers, as needed. Demonstrates timeliness, courtesy, sincerity and patience when dealing with customers. Markets the company in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Environmental Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Must possess mobility to work in and move about in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Sitting in a seated position for extended periods of time. Reaching out by extending hands or arms in any direction Finger dexterity required to manipulate small objects such as using a keyboard Strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds Communication skills using the spoken word, both in person and over the telephone. Visual ability to read materials in either a printed format or on a computer screen Ability to hear well enough to carry on a normal conversation, both in person and over the telephone. Stamina to maintain attention to detail despite frequent interruptions.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency Bilingual preferred Good organizational skills. Willing to function as a cooperative team member. Responsible and cooperative attitude. Clean and neat in personal appearance.
