Billing Specialist - Commercial Construction Irvine, CA $60,000 - $68,000 Join a growing, family-owned commercial subcontractor with a long-standing reputation for quality and service. We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist with construction billing experience to support commercial projects and ensure accurate, timely invoicing and payment processing. What You'll Do Prepare and submit progress billings and pay applications for commercial construction projects. Coordinate with Project Managers to verify completed work, change orders, and billing amounts. Process and track project invoices, billing submissions, approvals, and payments. Manage lien waivers, compliance documents, and billing paperwork required by general contractors. Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding payments, and assist with collections. Resolve billing discrepancies and maintain accurate project financial records. Support month-end reporting and ensure audit-ready billing documentation. What We're Looking For 2+ years of construction billing, subcontractor billing, accounts receivable, or related experience. Strong understanding of progress billing, pay applications, and construction invoicing processes. Experience with AIA billing (G702/G703), lien waivers, retention, and change orders is highly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with construction, ERP, or project management software. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
